‘Wisdom’ is about the power that comes from trusting yourself.
We spend so much of our lives questioning what we know, looking outside ourselves for answers, or allowing other people’s certainty to become louder than our own. Yet there is a strength that develops when we begin to trust what we see, what we feel and what we know to be true.
That strength has a solidity to it, not because we suddenly have all the answers, but because we are no longer so easily pulled away from ourselves.
The lion represents that place within us. Strong, instinctive and completely at home in its own nature. The woman beside him is not borrowing his strength. She recognises the same strength in herself.
Perhaps that is wisdom, not knowing everything, but knowing yourself well enough to trust the ground you stand on.
